FAWN
A I recollection of the memories of springtime in the woods of upstate New York. It is in my birth month of March when the bare trees and frozen ground start to thaw and new life slowly peeks from the bare earth and reach up towards the sky. It is from these delicate lifeforms that has been patiently waiting under ice for months, that I find a new beginning, and shed the weight from the past year. This freshness and buoyancy is represented in the smooth subtle textures of the fabrics, the delicate embellishments, and bold pops of color set against the warm neutrals of wood and stone. Airy swathes of fabric are anchored by bold tailored pieces, in reference to the laid back elegance of Italian and American 1930s sportswear, combined with a Japanese discipline of proportion and balance in the cut of the garments. This is a representation of what I believe to be trademark of my aesthetic and my unique approach to easy elegant dressing, that can be slipped on and easily paired with other pieces. To me, luxury is about simplicity, timelessness, contrasting proportions, and the showcasing of beautiful materials.
The first look consists of a Wool Crepe gown, lined with brushed silk, tailored to the body along princess lines, and hand embellished with a spray of delicate freshwater pearls. The second look consists of a hand sewn Hammered Silk Satin Haori, worn with bias Linen/Viscose wrap pants, complete with waist cord finalized by baroque pearls and 18th century Chinese Agate tube beads.
